(Benjamin Teixeira de Aguiar) – Eugênia, this week, an internationally acclaimed author published a work where, at one point of the text, he seems to defend sadomasochism, trying to establish a philosophical and even spiritual base for it, by saying that it is part of the human nature to generate and suffer pain, as source of pleasure and vitality, although later in the same book, it seems that he also tries to undo such impression. Considering the terrible bloodshed we watch on the news and recurrent headlines, with millions of eager spectators, and considering what the martyrs and saints had told of good and divine about self-flagellation, what would you have to say to us?

(Spirit Eugênia) – If he really defended this thesis, the author has made an enormous and regrettable mistake, leading millions of people around the world to inadequate thoughts, feelings and attitudes. He was brave, no doubt, to present the subject so openly, but he did not understand the subject with the depth he assumed he had. People contemplate pain, and inflict suffering to each other, because they are desperately needy and insecure and not because this very behaviour generates pleasure. In the complex intricacies of human mind, magnificently capable of almost miraculous juggling to adapt to any circumstance, people end up associating pleasure to painful situations, as an ultimate tactic to endure and transcend unbearable situations. Thus, what sadomasochism reveals, not only in terms of the known sexual perversion, but in all its daily manifestations in the life of individuals and peoples, is what human mind and soul, brilliant in their divine ability to generate life amid unfavourable conditions, can get to do, to make life possible, when it becomes almost unviable.

Since suffering is a mechanism inseparable from the process of life, in more primitive levels of evolution, such as those on Earth, as a means to compel beings to transcendence, by the destruction of the old and the inadequate and the incitement of the new and appropriate, many decide to fall in love with the ways of oppression and destruction that characterize them, instead of focusing on their superior purposes of growth and evolution of the beings.

On the other hand, another profound cause exists, although indirect, in a false ideology of survival in the lowest levels of expression of consciousness, that we could call the win/lose paradigm, as named by some authors of the physical plane.

According to this way of reading reality, in order for somebody to survive and thrive, somebody else has to lose and fade. In this manner, the sadists find pleasure in destroying and oppressing, whereas masochists, anxious to win the love of others, surrender themselves to unnecessary tortures, trying to fulfil the others’ impulse of supremacy.

Both postures are highly unhealthy and misguided, since it is known, from the analysis of tendencies in international politics, as well as from the games of commercial relations, that the only lasting negotiations, and indeed effective in promoting success, are those based on the win/win paradigm. That is: the happiness and success of one is only viable with the success and happiness of the other. All parties must win or all lose, because in the dance of winning/losing, the oscillation is something fatal: those who win today will inexorably lose tomorrow. It is curious and ironic to realize that sadomasochists, speaking of those who devote themselves to the familiar and bizarre sexual mania, know this, and establish rules, so that, ultimately, no one suffers “for real” and everyone has pleasure in the rehearsed drama of submission and dominance.

I will deal with saints and martyrs later on, although still in this dialogue.

(BTA) – Fantastic, Eugenia. What do you propose, as a cure, for these processes, that, by your perspective, are really pathological -am I right?

(SE) – Yes, you are right. We are not saying they are sinful, but pathological, as a complex deviation of the vital force to self-destructive and destructive behaviours, since they cannot manage with balance the renovation force that permeates all processes of life. To keep sanity, before what is incomprehensible to them, or to not burst in pain, before the revolt against what is inappellable: suffering itself, some more hedonistic souls create the intricate mechanism of sadomasochist fantasy to survive their low degree of self-knowledge and wisdom before the great questions of life.

What I recommend to people, who experience or feel tempted to follow down the sickening field of sadomasochism, is to know themselves more, in depth, so that they can understand that the complexes of guilt, inferiority, inadequacy and existential anguish before life’s apparent lack of meaning, can be processed calmly, generating well-being and peace, with no need to appeal to such compensatory mechanisms which, besides being morbid, may become dangerous, without mentioning the fact of wasting an entire transformational force that should be applied to growth, to the evolution of the consciousness, in search of higher levels of happiness and bliss, and not to remain stationed in pain, as an inevitable destiny of the human species.

(BTA) – Now, I believe that it would be compatible with the point to which our conversation has reached, for you to say something about the martyrs and saints of the past, right?

(SE) – Yes. What used to happen in the past was a failure in the understanding of the relationship between matter and spirit, body and soul. Thus the great mystics were induced to torture their bodies in the name of the spirit, because of, I repeat, an incorrect understanding of what life is and its processes of self-transcendence. Gautama Buddha, well before Christ, had already pointed to the great misconception of the ascetics that followed the path of laceration of the body, sexual abstinence and starvation, as a means to attain enlightenment. The great enlightened of the 6th century BC also said that there was such a great imbalance in this conduct, as there was in the excessive preoccupation with the welfare of the physical body, with total disregard for the needs and aspirations of the spirit.

As for the ecstasy felt by these people, when subjected to long and cruel abuse, once again, we remind you of the exceptional power of human mind and body to generate compensations for extreme situations. Athletes, in a state of profound exhaustion, after a long period of exertion, speak of the great pleasure they enjoy, because of the high doses of endorphins poured out in the bloodstream by the body on the brink of collapsing, some of them, to the point of, in fact, suffering from a premature wear-out or even death, because of the abuses perpetrated against the soma, in an attempt to repeat the sensation of pleasure in a supra-normal situation.

The same can be said regarding the use of other drugs that not endorphins – which literally mean: internal drugs – but also drugs that are ingested. When people are under the influence of alcohol for example, they have a temporary sensation of pleasure and relaxation, or excitement and agility in the case of cocaine, but the damages left in the brain are terrible and irreversible, because both drugs have the power to shrink it by the devastation of the neuronal tissue (cocaine much more). Not only there is no permanent gains in the state of consciousness (the state of pleasure is always temporary), as they still can get irreparable losses in the central nervous system and in others departments of the body.

If we observe those who make regular use of marijuana, we will clearly see the loss of cognitive, mnemonic, creative and abstract abilities in exchange for a pseudo-serenity that represents a drain of the psyche, which is mutilated, gradually, until the individual’s complete imbecility. This reminds us of what used to happen in past centuries, when doctors, with the best intentions, used to carry out bleeding in their patients to stop fever. Everyone around would cheer up with the immediate reduction of the feverish state –and it could not be different: the blood was drained out of the organism, to the point of it not being able to generate the urgent healing mechanism that fever represents – but, in doing so, they were promoting the installation of the aggressive foreign elements that the body was trying to eliminate through the fever.

Thereby, the body’s defenses were ruined, and people assumed, with that, to be saving the patient.

(BTA) – Eugênia, how brilliantly exceptional and wise your words are… Is there still anything else that you would like to tell us about this matter?

(SE) – That everyone be cautious with the pseudo-learned and, especially, with all doctrines, ideologies and principles apparently well elaborated, but whose base is sophistic, exactly because it is devoid of common sense, denied by the best principles of ethics, moral and justice. Many good and intelligent people, educated and well intentioned, let themselves be led by siren song of ideas of “vanguard”, but that, in fact, reeks of madness and delusion, leading their proponents, and those who follow them, to unhappy lives of anguish and dissatisfaction. The loss of peace and joy of living must be a strong enough sign of warning to those who venture into these mental lands of quicksand. And when we speak of peace and happiness, we do not refer to the fleeting moment of excitement and relief that addicted of all kinds feel at the time they fulfill their compulsion, but to the deep and lasting feeling of wholeness and balance that those who are aligned with God and the Flows of life enjoy. This sensation is unique and it is an unmistakable sign of the “elected”, as per the evangelical language: those who elected themselves to follow the steps of truth, the steps of life.

Benjamin Teixeira de Aguiar by the Spirit Eugênia

You felt butterflies in the stomach, shivered, scrambled the words, you got short of breath and your heartbeat accelerated in the chest full of energy, feeling reconnected with life, you tell yourself: this is what I needed!

Easy, though, my friend, with your conclusions. You have gotten in touch with an experience of awakening of the libido and of the powerful psychic energy that makes one recapture one’s own vitality. However, if you remain only with the libido, with no serious infrastructure of feelings and values, everything breaks down and collapses devastatingly, sooner or later.

Learning to differentiate the expressions of feeling is of capital importance,to avoid a dangerous existential bifurcation and destroyng one’s own life. Between the authentic conjugal love and the pure and simple eros, in their initial manifestations, there is not much difference. Physical attraction has more to do with the “Chemistry of senses” – instinctual elements, often with evolutionary purposes, implicit in the genetic program of the body. But often the genuine love also hides behind the first flurry of sensations of the initial moment of an encounter.

How to differentiate: one is only sensory and emotional, the other wakes up high moral expressions of the soul. If someone makes you a better human being, more useful, more centered, more in control of yourself helping you develop potentials, as well as overcome limitations, you will be standing before love.

It will not be love, though, if you cannot devote trust, tenderness, feelings of friendship and dedication to the person who is the object of your attention. Feeling disgust, shame, fear or distress, next to the source of attraction, is also a warning sign. No one feels aversion to what will really do one good and to what one has a nuclear connection through the spirit. Nip the evil in the bud, my friend, if you realize that what you feel is just a torrid and charring physical attraction to someone – this order of passion is dangerous.

However, if you notice other factors promoter of psychological integration, transcendence and wholeness arising, between the folds of feeling, go ahead, invest heavily and bet on your happiness.

Benjamin de Aguiar
by the Spirit Eugênia.

Pallas Athena became the symbol of wisdom and of constructive combativeness, for the Occident and she was gay. So much so, that her name, originally only Athena, became Pallas (name of her much loved consort) at the request of herself to her father, Zeus (after Pallas’ death), who was her model of ideal psyche, since Athena wanted to bring Pallas inside herself forever…

The greatest philosophers from Classical Antiquity notably had homosexual relationships. Unforgettable geniuses such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Adam Smith, Isaac Newton and Rimbaud were homosexuals, as were Shakespeare, Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great, Immanuel Kant and Francis Bacon…

By what History reveals, through a cold and impartial reading, maybe we can speculate that homosexuality is a human condition that propitiates geniality, greatness of achievements or the glory of goodness…

Would it be counter-prejudice to think this way? If my opinion is tendentious, how can we explain the impressive percentage of illustrious gays among the greatest names in Art, Philosophy, Science and Politics (even if we take into consideration the problem of revealing the intimacy of many of them, with biographers concerned about hiding their “shameful weakness of the flesh”)?

Perhaps we should review the concepts of homophobia, reversing them. And just like the Olympic Games progressively make it clear the organic superiority of black people over white people (when comparing strength, speed and resistance), I, as a guardian of the gay cause, unabashedly state that I see homosexuals as a class of human beings that is between the average humanity and another one, composed of geniuses and angels.

Sex, Aggressiveness and Their Relation (Short Answers from the Spirits – 04).

Benjamin Teixeira de Aguiar
by the Spirit Guide Gustavo Henrique

Q: Delano Mothé: Could you make a comparative study on sexual attraction and aggressiveness?

A: The Spirit Eugênia is helping me with this question. Regrettably, there is in human nature – and psychoanalysis is rich in this particular matter – very deep connections between sexual aggressiveness (this is so true that the expression was created) and non sexual aggressiveness, because sexuality happens to be a waste pipe, a drainpipe to aggressiveness, but sexuality could express itself apart from aggressiveness.

Some people, mainly men, when in a non aggressive posture, lose sexual attraction. That’s why, my dear friends, sometimes you are in a loving and peaceful period in the relationship with your spouse and they become sexually colder. It’s because they have no reason to want to punish you through sex – that is what men unconsciously feel. The male sexual organ has a function similar to that of a weapon with which he imagines himself to be hitting his prey or his element of punishment.

It’s not every man who has the emotional and unconscious maturity to understand sex as an instrument of giving love and not of punishment. Regrettably, the same happens with some women – not so much, but it still does. It happens less in women, so that when they are upset with their spouses, partners, boyfriends, etc. – because now there is this modern mode. Isn’t it Delano? Unmarried people having sex (I’m joking, my friends. Have sex at will! Not totally at will! It cannot be totally at will, or it would be the beast turned loose in the city. It can’t be this way; we have to control and educate the inner animal.).

So, when a woman is upset, she doesn’t feel like having sex, while the man barely finishes arguing and he is already ready for sex. It’s to seal peace, he says. Do not believe him; he wants to punish her, to punish them.

Some men will be upset with me, Delano, because I exposed them in public. What happens is that unconsciously men discharge their rivalry and conflict with the female element through sex, therefore when they are tense they have sex to feel relaxed while women need to relax in order to have sex.

1700. Homosexuals are living aberrations, abominable to God, that need to be eliminated, by the bonfires still lit by the Inquisition in countries like Portugal. Lisbon is the world capital of gay horror…

1800. The Napoleonic Code grants homosexuals freedom of expression, without being treated as criminals. They can be depraved, but we should protect their freedom to express their dissoluteness. Paris becomes the first big gay Mecca of modern times.

1900. Freudian psychoanalysis states: homosexuals are neither delinquent nor dissolute, but sick people that should not bypass treatment. Put them in clinics, not in prisons. Vienna becomes the biggest symbolic asylum for the perverts of sexuality.

2000. After international consensus, scientifically and officially documented, the American Psychiatric Association, in 1973, declares that homosexuality is not a crime, neither an illness, nor a mental disorder, but simply a singular manifestation of human sexuality. Not only New York and San Francisco, but also, Paris, London, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and practically all major metropolises of the world are converted in free and bubbling points of the gay universe.

2100. Homoaffectivity will be considered as natural as heteroaffectivity, and all cities, small or large, in all civilized and democratic nations of the world, will be peaceful oases for the manifestation of love between equals.

In what century are you?

True Ethics

Benjamin Teixeira de Aguiar

by the spirit Eugênia-Aspásia.

The essential in ethics is to be spiritual. There are those who are ethical and suffer terrible punishments, because they have a veiled goal of benefiting from the righteous behavior. On the other hand, there are people who make some mistakes throughout life, and yet, life seems to reward them, as if they had done the right thing all the time.

Contradiction? Oh, no. It’s justice: they did their best and are recognized for it. I am not referring here to thieves who are enthroned in positions of power or those corrupt who enrich themselves on the good will and good faith of others.

I refer to something more complex and subtle – to those issues related to dignity, like the husband who is unfaithful but is forgiven, after correcting his behavior, but another one, who continuously strives to overcome his fickle nature, without ever slipping, and is continuously annoyed by his wife for no reason. Perhaps, this last one does not betray not because of a lack of will, or by a special dignity, but to keep his image unspoiled, or because he is simply not brave enough to face the situation, tension and eventual consequences, as in case of his wife finding out his escapades.

Please understand that I am not suggesting to anyone to loosen their impulses. This would be a return to the jungle. The limits imposed by civilization, the prejudices of society that require discipline, are highly beneficial, facilitating the maturation process of the soul. However, there are limit-circumstances, in which the individual does not incur in error, such as the hypothetical case that we showed above, not because of moral grandeur, but exactly the opposite: vanity and cowardice. And, frankly, at this point where the black and white of right or wrong becomes a really dense grey, who could say what the most correct attitude is? Jesus once said: Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’.

In the book of Revelation, by the mediumistic interpretation of John, the Master says again: because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Of course we are not proposing here any return to the primitive Manichaeism – this would even be contradiction with our own ideas, already explained in other numerous opportunities. What I want to draw your attention to is the fact that it’s not the act itself, but the intentions behind it that make the individual vile or not. And the world, no matter how much it’s accused of cruelty, often recognizes this. Not coincidentally, religious hypocrites are regarded with contempt, while ordinary celebrities, with scatological vocabulary and vulgar behavior, are often seen with sympathy and tender acceptance.

In this age of the politically correct, where people are too worried about ideological appearances, neglecting the essence of feelings, many people want to seem ethical and show off honesty, as if it were possible to be decent by merely acting out dignity. Integrity is like an aura that involves a person, an atmosphere that exhales from one’s soul and, regards mainly to whether one is being consistent with one’s current level of evolution and sincerely giving one’s best. No one can dissimulate the essential. The dishonest one trying to pass for a saint causes immediate repulse. It becomes obvious, even if it is not possible to prove anything; and one is seen with suspicion, even if one plays everything correctly, manipulating facts and information.

Dear friend, it is clear that you should not be careless with your image, openly exposing yourself to the evil and to the malice of others. However, before you try to seem ethical or honest, be it. No one fools God or oneself, and life shows, sooner or later, that we also cannot fool others either. The price of mystification is always very high. At best, those who can successfully deceive the crowds, live tormented by distrusts at home, incapable of taking off the mask among those they love or doubting the innocence and purity of valuable souls, at their side, who truly love them, torturing and getting tortured in terrible and distressing psychological mistreats, wasting the greatest opportunities of being happy, frightening off those who are worthy, and eliminating the love and even the presence of those to whom they should be forever grateful, for loving them despite everything..

And if you have made any slip in your youth, or even today, stop silly concerns about reputation. Whoever is sincere

and well intentioned with their actions, is also forgiven for their mistakes and even more admired in their weaknesses, when they do not try to hide them with lies. Not everything can be acknowledged in public – it is also clear: the omission of truth, though not its distortion, will still be an indispensable practice on the Earth of today, still hypocrite, inconsistent and evil. However, if you emanate good intentions, good will, a desire to serve and be useful, to be assertive and improve yourself, people will notice it, and they will easily grant you understanding, if not forgiveness. Focus, then, on the good you can do now – this is the essential – because, as said by the Apostle, love covers a multitude of sins.

Whoever is without sins cast the first stone, Jesus said. You do not need to consume yourself in remorse for having caught yourself in error. If you realize your mistakes and try to mend yourself, you are in the path of progress. The problem lies in not seeing your own imperfections, or in noticing them and not doing anything about them. Make a continuous effort to improve yourself and, the energy of your spiritual effort to improve yourself, and the psychic standard of a tranquil conscience, generated by this effort, will attract the sympathy, respect and consideration of people, no matter what has happened. And, as for those who deny you affection and approval, remember also that it is inevitable that you come across them in a world still so behind as the planet you live in, no matter who you are, no matter how much good you do, no matter how perfect you try to be. Therefore, refrain from surrendering to any kind of guilt feelings, when you notice their look of disdain, dislike, hate or mockery. You cannot blame yourself for the evilness, madness or ignorance of others. Just follow, at peace, in your path of ideal, and trust exclusively (not even to yourself) to God, the Being of Infinite Love and Absolute Forgiveness, the task of judging you. Focused on the best, in doing your best and to become better, time itself will dissolve all the dark clouds that you feel weigh over your head, quickly converting them into hosannas of praise, filling with joy your valuable heart and with tranquillity your soul, thirsty of serenity and peace.
